The idea for Angels With Warm Comfort was our answer.  PC Angels.Net began the crusade, asking anyone who knew how to knit, crochet or quilt, to donate new lap-sized robes, larger afghans, baby afghans and shawls, and quilts.  People were urged for donations of baby yarn, Red Heart worsted yarns and of course, financial contributions.
