God sent
me an angel;
Can it really be true?
I'd been lost and so alone,
Then I looked up and there was you.
God sent me an angel;
And yes it feels so right.
He knew I needed someone
To hold onto me so tight.
God sent me an angel;
I'm so thankful it was you.
Although the waiting has been rough,
I think the angel needs me too.

Mothers never seem to hear
The feelings inside your heart, unspoken.
Why can't you say them easily;
Giving more than a little token?
Someday she'll have to leave you,
When you most need her to stay.
There's nothing you'll be able to do,
Lives have to end that way.
Making the most of the little things,
That she did to show her love,
Will ease the pain somehow,
When she's taken her place above.
So tell her that you love her.
Swallow that silent pride.
You will never walk alone,
There'll be an angel at your side.

Or how they watch over you.
No one told you how they step right in,
To take such good care of you.
No one told you to look for an angel,
Because sometimes you never see.
No one told you there may be one waiting,
You thought it could never be.
No one told you to kiss that angel,
Because he appeared to be just a man to you.
No one told you angels could fall in love,
It was just meant for you to do.
